Amos The Burden by Chris Ryan
This Bible Study teaching/preaching is about the book of Amos and how it parallels much of what’s going on today. Amos was called to go north from Judah and preach to Israel to return to God. They did not want to hear his message and told him to go. As Amos spoke, Israel would lose their land to the Assyrians in 722 B.C.. God sent fire upon nations for their sins in judgment. God would send His fire of judgment on the cross to save men’s lives instead of destroying them. Jesus would face the judgment of God on the cross for us, be buried, and be resurrected. Jesus would send the message of the gospel (good news) to save us from eternal damnation.
Presentation corrections and comments:
I’m recovering from a concussion but getting better day by day. Here are some corrections. This video was done upon speaking in front of an audience, so I did not have the PowerPoint in my face. Jeroboam put up idols in Bethel and Dan (I Kings 12:29). By accident, early in the video, said Samaria later; this was corrected and shown in the video.
Testimony about the dream, it’s not that God was cold, in the sense of not being full of love. I don’t want to portray God wrongly; He is full of love – God is love (I John 4:8). The little boy did not want Christ; he wanted to remove Christ Jesus the ROCK from his life so he could do what he wanted to do and he got the results of his actions. This is one of my first presentations like this, so I will work on getting more excellent. Also, when I say they were only baptized in Jesus’ name, this is true; I was referring to the apostles after the Lord Jesus Christ was crucified, buried, and resurrected. After this, the church was always baptizing in the name of Jesus Christ (Acts 2:38-39). This message was given at a youth service.
I hope this information stires you to live a life totally for Jesus Christ.
